Originally a riverside sandy field and habitat, Nodeul Island became isolated due to urban developments. The project transforms this underutilized infrastructure into a resilient urban space, reconnecting it with the city. It showcases urban resilience by integrating human and natural elements, creating a dynamic relationship between nature, culture, and infrastructure. The design incorporates adaptive strategies to handle seasonal flooding while providing a versatile public space, emphasizing the importance of reintroducing abandoned urban areas to the community.

Located near Incheon International Airport, INSPIRE is an entertainment-integrated resort designed to maximize its natural surroundings. Built on reclaimed land with saline conditions, the landscape uses innovative strategies to manage and highlight its environment, creating inspiring experiences that change with the day and seasons. The design addresses complex site conditions to offer a sustainable and unique experience for visitors, reflecting the balance between natural beauty and modern entertainment.

This project revitalizes an underdeveloped city by reconnecting it with its historical and cultural identity. “Disclosed Nature” integrates landscape and architectural design to highlight the site’s natural and historical characteristics. The park’s layout reveals the original topography and hydrology, allowing visitors to experience the story of Yisabu and the landscape as it was. It serves as a cultural and ecological landmark, bridging past and present to enrich the community’s engagement with their environment.

Situated near the Han River, this project harmonizes natural landscapes with urban programs in a flood-prone area. Four key strategies—thick natural boundaries, seasonal program reconstructions, geographical design integration, and a context-aware planting plan—are employed to create a resilient yet accessible recreational space. The design accommodates year-round use, transforming a challenging site into a multifunctional natural and recreational area that blends seamlessly with the surrounding environment.

The Yongsan Parkway is a linear cultural park designed to connect Yongsan Station with Yongsan Park, acting as a gateway and interface for the surrounding community. It facilitates multi-directional connectivity between residents, office workers, and visitors. The design integrates oblique stone variations and landscape elements to accommodate diverse events and daily activities, creating a unique and harmonious urban space that enhances social interaction and accessibility.

Maengbang Waterfront Park Master Plan aims to restore a degraded beach landscape affected by erosion due to industrial developments. The plan promotes natural restoration through artificial dunes and erosion-reducing facilities, avoiding excessive infrastructure that could harm the site’s beauty. The project aims to create sustainable industries for local residents while enhancing the village’s infrastructure and resilience, ultimately fostering a stronger connection between the community, nature, and local events.

The Incheon Boulevard Park project transforms an outdated overpass, which has hindered local development for decades, into a linear park. This urban regeneration initiative aims to reconnect the community by integrating green corridors, enhancing pedestrian connectivity, and introducing programmed features along the six-lane road. The design respects the evolving needs of the city, creating a dynamic space that blends nature, infrastructure, and locality.

Originally designated for a nuclear power plant, this site has been transformed into a unique park that showcases the natural evolution of the landscape after years of abandonment. Healing Nature Land integrates geological and ecological elements, allowing visitors to experience the area’s transformation over time. The park serves as a key part of the Samcheok Integrated Tourist Complex, offering immersive experiences that highlight the region’s natural and historical heritage.

The Jamsu Bridge is a piece of city infrastructure designed with a low height for rapid military crossings. Due to this structural feature, it becomes submerged by the Han River during the rainy season. As a new bridge was built above, its military and connecting functions diminished, and the bridge is now evolving for new uses.

The design focuses on revealing the bridge’s inherent architectural and natural features, considering seven key elements: its longitudinal and lateral views, scenic separation by the arches, erosion and sedimentation from the river, flooding from rain, the spatial layout connecting both banks, and light and shadow. Through minimal alterations, the bridge’s unique qualities are dramatically highlighted.

The site must capture the landscape, spatial, and functional essence of the natural characteristics of Unjeong city—once filled with clouds and mist—alongside the demands arising from the development of a new town. ‘Healing Cloud’ proposes an open space as a “multilayered and diachronic gateway” that reflects both the unique locality of the site and its future value.

It is a place where a nervous and excited young worker passes on their first day of work, where a weary worker finds solace after a long day, and where families feel the joy of togetherness on the weekends. The ‘Healing Cloud’ will become an open plaza that accommodates the diverse purposes and needs of many visitors and a healing park where the ordinary and the extraordinary blend.

Fish Eye’s View Garden illustrates the ecological recovery of the Taehwagang River, which once suffered severe pollution. The garden features sculptures of native fish species and an interpretive shelter that narrates the river’s transformation. Collaborating with local artisans, this handmade installation highlights the river’s renewed life, symbolizing the coexistence of nature and urban life.

Eggs on Madang is a thematic garden installation that recalls the traditional role of the Korean yard as a space for both daily life and reflection. Utilizing digital modeling and precise CNC routing, the wooden elements are intricately designed and assembled without adhesives. This show garden invites visitors to reflect on the past through the symbol of ‘eggs,’ representing the essence of simplicity and continuity in Korean culture.

The Nostalgia explores the interplay between geometric forms and spatial perception by twisting forty-two identical canvases with a gradually shifting rotation gradient. This parametric design harmonizes aesthetic expression with practical constructability, creating a space that evokes curiosity and exploration. The project demonstrates how simple geometric manipulations can transform spatial experience and visual dynamics.
